About Liza Jane Interiors

Liza Jones, principal and owner of Liza Jane Interiors, is a proud eighth-generation Virginian. Her family’s centuries-old roots in the Old Dominion are echoed in Liza's love of the state’s unique and varied history. “I continue to find inspiration every day, all around me,” she states.

Liza began her career as an event planner, which required her to travel to every state in the U.S. That job's disciplines taught her that the devil really is in the details and the importance of project management. After earning her degree in Interior Design, then working for several top designers, Liza started her design business in 1996.

“When working with a new client, my first goal is to clearly understand their needs and desires. My job is to then interpret their vision, creating fresh and exciting designs.”

Building client confidence is paramount for Liza. “Once a client trusts I understand their ascetic and budget," Liza says, "everything else falls into place.”  The time she invests in really listening ensures each project becomes a real home, functional as well as beautiful, tailored to the needs of each individual client. This explains why many of her clients have become friends, asking her back to design second, even third homes.

Liza Jane's portfolio includes diverse projects, ranging from contemporary residences to eclectic individual spaces. Liza likes to blend old and new, high and low.  A signature mark is to use high-quality upholstery and case goods, then fill intermediary spaces with less expensive objects. Liza always allows for the incorporation of client’s existing pieces, where that's a priority.

As a parent of a teenager, an ardent pet lover and a child of aging parents, Liza understands the particular challenges of projects which incorporate specific design requirements.  Unique lifestyles, and unique homes demand unique solutions; once again Liza's attention to detail ensures complete client satisfaction.

Liza's interior design projects have been featured on Home and Garden Television (HGTV), USA Today , The Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine.  Additionally, Liza Jane Interiors was selected to design rooms for the Washington National Symphony Orchestra Decorator Show and the Loudoun Arts Council Decorator Show.

Liza’s most recent canon has been influenced and inspired by extensive global travels. She has had the pleasure of visiting South Korea, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic.

Liza is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), and recently received her certification as a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS).
